Well, it was sort of a surprise because they asked in advance if it would be okay. We weren't particularly comfortable having any showers before the baby is actually placed... but we went ahead and made an exception since nearly the entire family (on my dad's side) would be together for Easter.
Cousins and significant others
There was a total of about 25ish of us in an out of my uncle's ranch house over weekend. We weren't all 25 there at the same time – unfortunately four of my cousins had to leave on Saturday night, and another four people, including my parents, couldn't come until this morning. A handful of family members were missing altogether... and missed they were!Somehow the ladies managed to decorate the whole dining room with super cute pink and green and Easter-y decorations without me noticing.
Austin and I happened to both be wearing pink (no joke) and were gifted some fab accessories when we walked in the dining room.
For the obligatory game, everyone was given the title of a nursery rhyme and had to recite the rest of it. It was pretty funny, considering I come from a long line of jokesters.
Mimi impressed us all by bulldozing through Humpty Dumpty! Aggie cousins give us Aggie gear. They wish!
And preppy cousin gives us cute preppy gear! ;)
My grandma gave the baby my dad's silver rattle, cup and his baby blanket.
Aunt Marty made matching outfits ALOT like this for me and two of my cousins... When we were 10.
The gifts were all so cute, the cake was delish (and cleverly decorated with little hair bows!), and the company was lovely. My cousin James offered to lead a prayer for Austin and I at the end, and then we all joined together and prayed for "A."
What a beautiful Easter, and how lucky we all are for God to have chosen us as his children, placed us all in this family, and chosen our baby for us in such a miraculous way.
PS - Thanks to Aunt Tonja for taking all the pics!
